Alternately cut thick slice of potato. Place it on your boil before going to bed and use a cloth or bandage to hold it in place. Leave it on your boil overnight and discard in the morning. Epsom salt

Here, take 1 tsp of Epsom salt, some warm water, and a cotton ball or a muslin cloth.В  Now add Epsom salt to the warm water. Soak aВ  washcloth or cotton ball in this. Antibiotic Treatment for Boils

In order to avoid putting any effort some people try to pop a boil which is definitely a messy affair. There are several antibiotics available in the market for the treatment of boils. It is best to try some of the common antibiotics rather than popping a pill, like:

Neosporin

Apply Neosporin directly on the boil and its surrounding area. This will help boil to heal faster. Repeat the process for several days to get better results.

Ichthammol Ointment

It is known for healing several problems, like treatment of poison ivy, insect bites, removing splinters, and for treatment of boils

Some Precautions:

Take the below precautions as well to treat a boil and to prevent suffering from a boil:

  • Wash hands with water and soap before and after applying medicines and remedies to the infections.
  • Improve your immune system functions by including more leafy green vegetables, fruits and nuts in your diet.
  • Wash the boil and the surrounding areas daily in order to prevent bacteria build-up.
  • Keep your towels, clothes and shoes dry and clean and avoid sharing towels, bedding and clothes with anyone who has boils.
  • Include foods rich in vitamins C, E and A in order to form protection against bacterial infection.
  • Wash all washcloths and towel used for compression.
  • You can apply colloidal silver cream or anti-bacterial cream to the boil.
  • Avoid sugar-rich foods, fats, simple carbohydrates and carbonated beverages.
  • Never squeeze or poke the boil with a needle in order to relieve pressure, as in can make the infection worse.
