  • For best results, add 5 tsp of honey to a cup of herbal tea or hot water.
  • You can add the juice of half a lemon to hot water and add honey to it.

Hot-Toddy

  • For this remedy, take 2 oz. Of bourbon or whiskey, 1 tbsp of honey, 4 ounces of hot water, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and one slice of fresh lemon.

  • Add the lemon juice as well.
  • Now place the mug in a microwave and heat it up.

Gargle with Apple Cider Vinegar and Salt

The acid in apple cider vinegar helps to form a coating on the throat that helps get rid of the bacteria’s very quickly.

  • To benefit from this remedy, take a glass of apple cider vinegar and add a teaspoon of salt in it.
  • Gargle with this several times a day.
  • For a gentler treatment, you can mix Вј cup of apple cider vinegar with Вј cup of honey.

Slippery Elm

For using this, take a cup of licorice root, half cup cinnamon chips, 2tbsp grounded cloves and half mug chamomile blooms. Now blend these together and store in an airtight jar far from light. When using this, just add 2tbsp of this tea mixture to 2.5 mugs of water. Boil it on medium for 10 minutes and then stew for another 10 minutes. Strain and sip it slowly.   • Here simply get some basil leaves and boil them in two cups of water.
  • Boil for 5 minutes and then let them simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Now let the leaves steep in it for another 10 minutes.
  • Strain the solution and sip it slowly.

However, always follow the below precautions:

  • Don’t take an overdose of cough drops as they leave you feeling tired and heavy and avoid any alcohol and smoking while suffering from a sore throat.
  • Drink a lot of water and consume a lot of fruits, but avoid too many of those dairy products.
  • Keep drinking warm or hot water throughout the day as it brings most relief to a sore throat.
  • Taking steam at least a day or a warm compress right at bedtime is ideal when suffering from a sore throat.
